Used to work great. No longer connects to my base station. I am writing this in the dark :(

Not supported and doesn’t connect. Try other apps.
Installed with no issue. Good basic app for managing lights. Can group by room which is nice.
This is a very simple app but that’s by no means a criticism. It does exactly what you’d expect from the screenshots. I’ve encountered no bugs and am able to leave it running with no problems. It simply does exactly what it says it will do. Of course I hope the developers push it’s usefullness further but even with it’s limited functionality, this remains my go-to Mac app for controlling my Hue lights.
As of the time of this writing, whether because of a Hue software update, or maybe Mavericks, it doesn’t seem to work anymore. Also, the developer’s website doesn’t seem to exist.
I think the developer went out of business. Their website is down and the app no longer works (in mavericks. others?). It was a good app when it worked.
The app wont connect to my Hue hub. I tried going to the companys website and their domain is for sale. Theyre gone.
I had the same connection issues that some users have other reviews. To fix, i just quit the app, opened up my User’s Library -> Containers folder and deleted the folders that started with com.ambiancelabs and then restarted the app. Everything connected great after that. I so much prefer using this app to the iOS one that Philips writes.
TROUBLE CONNECTING? open the Hue website, sign in , go to “My bridge”, go to “show More”, scan down to “internal IP address” and copy that, then go to the Hue app and select Preferences, choose Connect icon, paste the IP address and hit scan. This doesn’t always work and many times I’ve simply had to reboot my computer and the bridge to link them back up which is a royal pain. I’ve been running it with Mavericks, so I think some of the connectivity issues are elsewhere for the other users. The least Philips could do would be to put that IP address somewhere on the opening web page once you’ve signed in so you don’t have to go through 4 steps to get to it and copy it every time. It does work once you get it to link. It is not a particularly robust app, though.
Had an update for the bridge, no longer connects :( Developer’s website goes to a godaddy generic hosting template.
I can’t get it to connect. Also, I am not able to contact support. When you click on the support link, it takes you no where. Why isn’t there a good Hue App for the Mac?!?
This app doesnt work and neither does the app store link to its support page.
developer’s website doesn’t exist and it won’t connect.
Just like SF Paul’, I can’t get this to connect anymore, no matter what I try. So until it’s updated, it’s useless. I had been using it without issue since April of last year, but looks like it may not be Mavericks compatible. What a shame.
Using this app to control Hue with the base station connected to my laptop instead of the router. Had to enter the IP manually.
I have 45 lights, but only the top 15 show. Also, w/Capitan, siders don’t work.
I was surprised to see an update for this app because I had heard the developer was no longer supporting it. Well, I installed the update and now the app can’t find my bridge. I have the original Hue bridge so I am not sure if that is the problem. All I can say is this latest update doesn’t work at all.
After updating on El Capitan, my bridge is no longer detected. I wish I could roll back a version since things have perfect until this update.
I have used this app for a long time and love it. However after the latest update, the app can no longer find my Hue bridge. I’ve tried with other apps and they work just fine, so it is definatley Colors for Hue that’s at fault. Please fix!
Like others, I updated and now the app can’t/doesn’t find my bridge. Up until this update, it was a good app and worked well.
